The ShoreMaster Quick Steps Connection Kit links one Pivoting QuickSteps section to another. The kit splices both lower stair-frame tubes and both handrails so the sections function as one continuous stairway. It works with any mix of the 4-step and 6-step assemblies, allowing the overall route to be built around the actual shoreline instead of a single fixed stair length.
Extend the Stairway Without Changing Systems
Mix Either Step Size
Connect 4-step to 4-step, 4-step to 6-step or 6-step to 6-step sections with the same splice kit.
One Kit Creates One Joint
Each connection kit joins exactly two adjacent QuickSteps sections. Add another kit for every additional section.
Splices Frames and Handrails
Lower frame tubes and four handrail splice tubes keep both sides of the stairway connected through the joint.
Built for Field Adjustment
After the sections are connected, the pivoting stairs and support legs can be positioned to match the planned route before final tightening.
Connection Kit Details
How Many Connection Kits Do You Need?
Simple rule: connection kits needed = total stair sections minus one.

Components in One Splice Kit
- Four handrail splice tubes
- Two lower stair-frame splice tubes
- QuickSteps splice-kit bolt bag

Plan Support for the Entire Extended Run
The splice kit connects the stair sections, but it does not replace the adjustable legs and foot pads included with each section. Every section must remain properly supported on firm ground.
Lay out the full stair route before final tightening. Long, steep or heavily used installations may benefit from dealer or installer review.
Build the Complete Stairway
This kit is only the connection between two QuickSteps sections.
Order the stair sections separately, plus one Quick Steps Bracket when the upper end of the run will attach to a dock.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can this kit connect a 4-step section to a 6-step section?
Yes. The same splice kit connects any combination of ShoreMaster 4-step and 6-step Pivoting QuickSteps.
How many kits do I need for three sets of steps?
Two kits. One joins the first and second sections; the second joins the second and third sections.
Does the kit include any stair treads or handrails?
No. It includes the splice tubes and hardware needed to join two complete QuickSteps assemblies. The stair sections are sold separately.
Does each connection add length?
Yes. ShoreMaster planning guidance indicates that each splice kit adds approximately one foot to the assembled stair length.
Can the connection kit attach the steps to my dock?
No. A separate Quick Steps Bracket is used at the dock-side end of the stairway. Select that bracket by dock series.
