The ShoreMaster Dock Steps with Handrail provide a wider, stair-style alternative to a traditional vertical ladder. The all-aluminum assembly includes handrails on both sides and adjustable legs that rest on the lake bottom, helping create a more gradual route between the dock deck and the water. Choose the 4-step or 6-step model by measuring from the lake bottom to the top of the dock at the intended installation location.
Designed for More Confident Water Access
Wide Stair-Style Treads
The step layout gives swimmers a larger place to plant each foot than a compact ladder rung, which can feel more natural when entering or leaving the water.
Handrails on Both Sides
Integrated aluminum handrails provide a steady grip point through the full transition from the dock deck to the lowest step.
Adjustable for Your Waterfront
The lower support legs can be set within the model-specific height range to account for dock height and lake-bottom conditions.
InfinityTrack Compatible
With two system-specific InfinityTrack brackets, the steps mount along ShoreMaster RS4, RS7, TS9 or FTS9 dock frames.
Choose the Correct Step Count
How to Measure Before Ordering
- Choose the installation location. Select a section of dock with clear water access and enough room for the stairway.
- Measure from the lake bottom to the top of the dock deck. Do not measure only to the current water surface.
- Compare the measurement with the adjustment ranges. Choose 4 steps for 32-44 inches or 6 steps for 45-57 inches.
- Check the bottom conditions. The two support legs need a firm, reasonably level place to rest.
Allow for seasonal water-level changes and confirm that the selected location remains deep enough for safe swimming and clear of underwater obstacles.
Select the Mounting Hardware for the Dock
For ShoreMaster Infinity docks, two matching InfinityTrack Accessory Dock Brackets are required and sold separately. Other dock systems need a compatible connector or a structurally appropriate bolt-on installation.
Infinity RS4
Use Two Part 1006706 Brackets
- Select two RS4 InfinityTrack brackets.
- The brackets attach to the welded plates on the stair assembly.
- The T-handles allow the assembly to be positioned along the RS4 side rail.
Infinity RS7
Use Two Part 1006708 Brackets
- Select two RS7-specific InfinityTrack brackets.
- RS4 and RS7 brackets are not interchangeable.
- Follow the bracket and stair instructions during assembly.
Infinity TS9 / FTS9
Use Two Part 1006730 Brackets
- Select two TS9/FTS9 InfinityTrack brackets.
- Confirm adequate leg support beneath the dock section.
- For another dock brand, review connector or bolt-on requirements before ordering.

Confirm Bottom Conditions and Seasonal Storage
These steps are supported by the dock at the top and by two legs on the lake bottom. Soft mud, steep drop-offs, rocks or shifting sand may require a different location or additional site planning.
In regions with ice or freezing water, remove the steps during the off-season. Before each use, inspect the attachment brackets, handrails, leg settings and underwater clearance.
Would a Pivoting Ladder Fit Better?
Choose Dock Steps with Handrail when wide treads and two handrails are the priority and the lake bottom can support the adjustable legs.
Choose a Pivoting Dock Ladder when you want a narrower footprint that can flip up and out of the water between uses.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose between the 4-step and 6-step models?
Measure from the lake bottom to the top of the dock deck at the installation point. The 4-step model adjusts from 32 to 44 inches; the 6-step model adjusts from 45 to 57 inches.
Are the handrails included?
Yes. The selected stair assembly includes a handrail on each side along with the uprights and assembly hardware.
Do the InfinityTrack brackets come with the steps?
No. ShoreMaster Infinity installations require two matching brackets sold separately. Select the RS4, RS7 or TS9/FTS9 version that matches the dock frame.
Can these steps be installed on a non-ShoreMaster dock?
A bolt-on installation or brand-specific accessory connectors may be possible, but the dock structure and mounting hardware must be reviewed for compatibility before ordering.
Can I leave the steps in the water through winter?
The aluminum construction is made for waterfront use, but ShoreMaster recommends seasonal removal in areas where ice or freezing water could place force on the steps or dock.
