Understanding 12V vs. 24V Operation
12V Setup
Uses a compatible 12V marine deep-cycle battery and offers the simplest battery-powered configuration.
24V Setup
Uses two compatible 12V batteries wired in series according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The higher-voltage setup can substantially increase pulling speed compared with 12V operation.
Optional solar charging: Compatible solar charging equipment may be added separately. Batteries, jumper wiring and the 24V solar panel kit are not included with this motor bundle.

Does the motor automatically switch between 12V and 24V?
The 12/24V motor is designed to support either properly configured voltage setup, but the batteries and wiring must be installed for the selected voltage according to the manufacturer’s instructions. It is not a plug-and-forget voltage conversion.
What is the advantage of operating at 24V?
The Gen 5 user guide notes that 24V operation can nearly double pulling speed compared with 12V. Actual lift speed depends on the boat, lift condition, battery condition and overall setup.
Can I add the 15-foot corded pendant?
Yes, the optional corded pendant is designed for compatible key-turn Boat Lift Boss motors equipped with the accessory pigtail. It is not compatible with the wireless-remote configuration.
Does the kit include the Whisper Winch?
No. The included kit contains the components required to mount the motor to a compatible existing ShoreMaster Whisper Winch. It does not include a replacement winch or boat lift.
Can this motor be charged with solar power?
A compatible solar charging system can be used with an appropriate DC battery setup. The solar panel, charge-control components, batteries and wiring accessories are sold separately and should be sized and installed for the specific system.
